Shadow Shaper is a wizard paragon path introduced in Heroes of Shadow. It is included in a set of paragon paths designed to assist characters in creating shadow-based characters.

It is rated as a weak paragon path choice, with only the level 11 and 12 powers being of notable use, and with the level 20 power being average quality. At this level, you're not likely to benefit from the action point feature, and probably duplicated the level 16 power in a feat. [Charop Wizard]

Prerequisite: Wizard with at least one illusion power.

Mind and Body (11th level): Any illusion attack powers you use that target Will can target Fortitude instead.

Nightmares Made Real (11th level): When you spend an action point to use a 1st-level at-will illusion attack power against a single target, the attack deals maximum damage if it hits.

Night Terror (11th level): You gain the night terror power.

Night Terror
Shadow Shaper Attack 11

Range: Ranged 10

Target: One creature

Effect: The target takes necrotic and psychic damage equal to your Intelligence modifier, and it is dazed until the end of your next turn. You can use the target's space as the origin for the next close or melee implement attack power you use before the end of your next turn.

Never-Ending Nightmare (12th level): You gain the never-ending nightmare power.

Never-Ending Nightmare
Shadow Shaper Utility 12

Range: Personal

Effect: Choose an illusion effect you created that would end at the end of your current turn. The effect instead lasts until the end of your next turn.

Spectral Dominance (16th level): While an enemy is subject to the effect of any of your illusion attacks, you gain combat advantage against that enemy.

Nightscape (20th level): You gain the nightscape power.

Nightscape
Shadow Shaper Attack 20

Range: Area burst 2 within 20 squares

Target: Each enemy in burst

Attack: Intelligence vs. Will

Hit: 3d8 + Intelligence modifier psychic damage, and the target is dazed (save ends)

Miss: Half damage, and the target is dazed until the end of your next turn.

Effect: The burst creates a zone that lasts until the end of the encounter. The zone is difficult terrain for your enemies. You and your allies gain partial concealment while in the zone.
