The Player's Handbook is a Dungeons & Dragons 4th Edition core rulebook published in June 2008. Along with the Dungeon Master's Guide and Monster Manual, it was one of the initial three rulebooks published for 4th edition. It was republished in October 2008 as a deluxe edition reflecting early errata and updates.

The book also covers general game rules and the basics of building a player character to adventure with.

After deciding on a race to play, players are required to determine the class they want to play. This book contains what are considered the standard classes for this edition based on Arcane, Divine, and Martial powers.

Feats[]

As a player finishes making their character, they must decide what feats the character has as they play. This book contains what are considered the standard feats for this edition based on Class, Divinity, Multiclass, and Racial and divided between Heroic, Paragon, and Epic tiers (in that order).
