Aventuras en la Marca del Este gaming group
The game master of this tabletop role playing group is seated behind a screen, and appears to be reading aloud from material concealed behind it.

A screen in tabletop role playing gaming is a visual barrier placed by a Dungeon Master on a tabletop to conceal die rolls, maps, or other adventure information unknown to the player characters.

The use of a screen helps a DM control the amount of information available to the players, and can add an element of uncertainty to gameplay.

Commercial DM screens printed with art and rules reference tables are available for purchase. DMs can also make their own screens, or improvise with binders, boxes, or books. DMs may even roll simulated dice and store maps electronically on a handheld device out of players' view, making a screen unnecessary.
